I personally love cities like Santa Barbara , California that have a uniqueness all there own and are strikingly beautiful and the entire city has on overall theme and look that is very cohesive through out the city . My other favorite city would be Charleston S.C. A very unique , authentic , city that in many regards has a European feel and quality about it , with very old and beautifully preserved architecture through out the city with intimate gardens and back alleys similar to many European cities . What would your favorite cites be and why ?

Chicago! Interesting variety of architecture, lakefront, river, parks, and various ethnic neighborhoods.

Wouldn't this thread be more appropriate for U.S. Forums -> General U.S.?

Anyway, I have seen a few shots of Santa Barbara in the TV series of the same name. But they showed very little of it, probably because it was not really shot there

Santa Fe looks interesting, those houses look a bit like the ones in Timbuktu, Mali.

New York City, Washington DC, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco.

* Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and Miami should be mentioned too.

DC is an amazing city. NYC is nice too, but IMO DC is the most "uniquely American" of all cities, and can contend with the best of them as far as beauty and architecrure.
