I would probably say NC due to the variety. I like that is has lots of mountains and beach. Georgia also has a nice selection of both. Alabama and SC also have some of each.

Louisiana and Florida have really interesting swamps (and of course FL also has miles and miles of beach and even a little coral way down in south florida).

Tenn and Ark have nice mountains, but I dislike the fact that they are landlocked.

Miss has a small stretch of beach, but it isn't the nicest, and there are no mountains to speak of.

Hard to beat Tennessee. I think Georgia and Arkansas are both underrated when it comes to natural beauty, especially Arkansas.

It's all subjective, but here are my picks:

North Carolina

Arkansas

Alabama

I think NC easily does because it's got mountains like TN plus a beautiful coastline. VA isn't too far behind.

I'm happy to see Arkansas getting some love on this thread. It really does have some beautiful parts. I saw people mention it on the "most boring states to drive through" thread but all most of them did was drive straight through on the way from Memphis toward Dallas. That is a boring drive. However off the interstate highways and into the Ozarks and the Ouachitas you'll find beautiful, unspoiled scenery and very few people.

The Deep South isn't great in scenery.. nothing beats the Appalachian region.
