Do some given names seem alot more common in particular areas? (live, tree)

Names, as you'd know, undergo fashions over time. The Pamela of yesterday is the Georgia or today. Some never seem to go away: like Matthew or Emily, and some get recycled.
I'm wondering, though, if certain names are alot more common in certain regions like say the Northwest, or the South, or even cities say NYC. Obviously, 'Juan' is more common in areas with lots of Hispanics, and maybe a name like 'Fiona' is more common in areas with alot of Irish people. Also nicknames, 'Bubba' seems stereotypically southern - what about say variants nicknames? Is 'Chuck' say more common in the West and 'Charlie' in the East? (to give an example - I have no idea if that's true or not!).
Thanks Paul. I notice 'Addison' is one of the most popular for girls in Wisconsin, I've never heard that as a first name before. Also 'Angel' one of the most popular for boys in Texas? weird, lol. Jose is the most popular in Texas lol.

Italian names are common here. We plan on naming our future son Carmine (my husband's grandfather's name; it's a tradition with italian families), and I"m sure if we lived outside metro NYC, he would be picked on because of his name, lol.

Not really, there's still a large Italian heritage in the Philadelphia areas as well. My cousin named his son Lorenzo, nicknamed Enzo - and his daughter Gia. Another cousin is named Gianna.
Oh, right...I guess sections of Philadephia and Chicago probably are similar.
Would agree, and I am Paul btw; I think most of Philly and the metro has a heavy Italian and Irish heritage. I am half and half for what it's worth. I was surprised when i started traveling that the whole country wasn't Italian (it was all i knew growing up)

Same with me. I thought most people were Italian and Puerto Rican, lol. Which were the 2 backgrounds I grew up with mostly. It wasn't until I was about 15 and really started traveling all over the place, when I realized other areas don't have many italians and ricans.
