The East coast is unique, as is the west coast. East coast cities are FAR better IMO, but the weather on the west coast (for the most part) is better, plus you have Florida which has the best winter weather on the continent. You deal with hurricanes and nor'easters on the East coast, wildfires/earthquakes/etc on the West coast. Either way there are positives and negatives on each coast, Id prefer the East coast myself, just is nicer overall. I couldnt handle Cali (except NorCal) or the NW's cloudiness.
The 'Best' coast, not the 'Least' coast. Southern California has the best weather on the planet, not just the nation. I can't tell you how many times a shuttle launch has been scrapped because of bad weather at the cape, when the weather was just fine at Lompoc, the other launch site. Same with landings, too. From freezing (tragic) to hailstones (recent), Florida's weather has actually cost the space program!
