Also sometimes when I close my eyes, I can see Chicago's skyline in my thoughts. One particular case was when I went to Hong Kong 3 years ago, I saw Chicago's skyline in my thoughts, and I was a few thousand miles away from the actual city of Chicago. Talk about the skyline seen around the world!
Its possible to see Rochester's skyline from the skypod of the CN Tower which is about 100 miles away. And think about the size of Rochester's skyline.
Not cities but in Arizona some people have been known to see from Humphreys Peak in Northern Arizona to Escudilla Peak in eastern arizona. Which is close to 200 miles.
I live in a city on a flat plain with few trees, so even though our skyline isn't tall at all (tallest building is 250 ft.), you can see it from about 15 miles out usually. When you come into Midland, Texas, from the north (which has an impressive skyline for a city of 100K), you can see it from about 20-25 miles out.
LOL I live along the skyline in a large log home nestled among the tall pines in Montana.
We can see the city lights below and in the distance but our house is not visable from there.
