Oh...well I'm guessing sushi is probably better there; since it's way closer to Japan than we are, and you have more asians in general. How much is sushi there generally? In NYC metro it's around $4 for a tuna roll.

Yeah, I know it is. The one edge I give Texas is that you get more value for your steak. You can get a decent steak at a lot of local places for $10 or $15. A lot of steak places here are more informal than the ones in New York that Ive been to.
One thing I will say is that Steak is definitely better in Texas than California.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is better, I do think sushi is more common and casual meal in California though. I've had great sushi in a lot of cities.

Ironically, the best sushi I ever had was in Tampa. It had to have been the most expensive I've ever had too, so that's probably why it was really good--it went for like $9 for a tuna roll.

I even pride the burgers around here (Jersey anyway, I.E. NJ has the most diners in the world), but there's a few metros with good burgers.

Love our diners! And I'm a cheeseburger addict, too.
My biggest shock re burgers came years ago when I visited someone in Dallas. I expected them to have some kickass beef, but every time I got a burger, it was awful. The meat tasted substandard, like something you would feed your dog.
I mentioned it to one of the locals I was visiting, and he said that was because the best beef gets shipped up to Chicago.
That was a long time ago--don't know if it's the same now.
