I've had great shrimp in Florida (southwest FL, around Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte).

Boiled in beer, Szechuan style, and shrimp cocktail. It was so fresh and good.

I want some now, dammit.

I LOVE blue crab claws. Having lived in Florida for years, I really miss them (from the St. Johns River).

Might be time for a road trip!

Cape Verdean food is another one, considering basically the only CV communities of any size in North America are in New England it is the only place in the country you can find authentic Cape Verdean cuisine.

I also live part time in Istanbul, and let me tell you I used to have my favorite Turkish restaurants (in NYC especially) but after spending so much time here I wont be able to view them the same once I return to Boston full time. Name it Kayak, Doner, Simit, Fresh Ayran, Lahmacun, Borek, Baklava, etc... its tough to find the same quality outside of Istanbul.
We have good Portuguese food available in Newark, NJ. There's a section called the Ironbound (because it's enclosed by train tracks) that has been home to Portuguese immigrants for generations. People will travel there just for the restaurants.
