Let me just preface this by saying that it all depends on what you're looking for. I personally like having access to big city ammenities, and that's reflected in my scores. Btw, I'm not doing + or -, just a flat letter grade. Sue me, lol.

Los Angeles: B+ (pros: Pacific Coast, lots to do / cons: very expensive, limited public transport/sprawl)
San Francisco A- (pros: lots to do, Pacific Coast/ cons: very expensive, snobby)
Seattle B- (pros: pretty? / cons: gloomy weather, expensive, not diverse, insular)
Denver C+ (pros: mountains?/ cons: isolated, poor economy)
Houston B (pros: friendly, food, cheap, economy, diverse/ cons: not pretty, limited public transport/sprawl)
Dallas B- (pros: food, cheap, economy, diverse/ cons: materialist, crime, limited public transport/sprawl)
Omaha D (pros: corn, cheap /cons: not much to do, not diverse)
Minneapolis C (pros: friendly, close to Chicago/ cons: not diverse)
Chicago A (pros: food, relatively inexpensive for a city it's size, vibrant, diverse/ cons: economy, expensive)
Indianapolis D (pros: close to Chicago/cons: not much to do, not diverse)
Miami B- (pros: interesting, fun, laid-back, beach/ cons: very expensive, violent, "too much fun")
New York A- (pros: good food, Atlantic Coast true 24 hour city, exciting, vibrant, diverse/ cons: very expensive, housing segregated)
Boston B (pros: interesting, Atlantic Coast, American History/ cons: American History gets boring after a while, housing segregated, expensive, tough on the college students)
Philadelphia B- (pros: historical, affordable (by NE standards), good food/ cons: crime)

Los Angeles: C+ (too expensive, liberal, plastic-y, dirty....but the ocean sure is nice and if you can afford a nice area, it's pretty nice)
San Francisco C- (It was a lot dirtier last I visited than I remember. And even gayer than I expected. But the bay is pretty phenomenal. And Rice-a-roni can't be beat.)
Seattle B (Eh....too many latte-sippers and dogs. And the rain sucks. But it's a pretty nice town.)
Denver B (Not a fan of the dryness, weather, flaky people, or mayor. But it's home so....I'll give it a decent grade. And the mountains are what they are: amazing.)
Houston B (Nice town. Too big and too hot. But it's got a lot going on.)
Dallas B (Wow. Enormous.)
Omaha B+ (Never been...but if you're good at finding your own stuff to do I hear it's really nice. Very clean and family-friendly.)
Minneapolis B- (I have no idea. It sounds like a nice midwestern town with too many liberals.)
Chicago A- (Chicagoland is freaking amazing)
Indianapolis B+ (Indy's on the rise. GREAT town. Clean, safe, lots to do, affordable.)
Miami C+ (Eh...it is what it is. Not my kind of place.)
New York C (It's New York. I'm a midwesterner. Of course I give it a 'C.')
Boston B- (Interesting place for sure.)
Philadelphia D (Yuck).
Because even the crappiest city (Detroit) has SOME redeeming quality and value--and some pretty awesome areas--I don't think you can fail any city. So my grades are pretty charitable.

San Francisco: B- (pros: beautiful setting, diverse, liberal; cons: expensive, terrible homeless problem, earthquakes)
Seattle: B+ (pros: beautiful, cosmpolitan, liberal; cons: expensive, too far from other places I like to travel)
Denver: A- (pros: nice older neighborhoods, good value, mountains, sunshine, good public transit; cons: a bit too bland and suburban)
Houston: C (pros: diverse, lots of things to do, cheap; cons: humidity, lack of decent public transit)
Dallas: B- (pros/cons: see Houston. I believe Dallas is slightly less humid and may have slightly better public transit so it has an edge there)
Omaha: D- (pros: low cost of living; cons: boring, bland, suburban, terrible public transit, conservative, not diverse, extreme weather, middle of nowhere)
Minneapolis: C (pros: liberal, diverse, low cost of living, ok public transit; cons: COLD, isolated)
Chicago: B- (pros: diverse, less expensive than comparable cities, good public transit, lots to do; cons: long winters, some very sketchy areas)
Indianapolis: D- (pros: low cost of living; cons: boring, bland, all the typical midwestern traits apply here I think)
Miami: C- (pros: strong culture, some beautiful and lively areas, weather; cons: lots of poverty, can be dangerous, very poor public transit)
New York City: B- (pros: tons of culture, exciting, great public transit, world class in every respect; cons: expensive!!!, some very bleak areas, stressful)
Boston: C+ (pros: historic charm, attractive city, good public transit, educated population; cons: cold, expensive, nightlife is lacking)
Philadelphia: C (pros: historic areas, less pricey than other big NE cities, decent public transit; cons: lot of bad neighborhoods, high crime)
Los Angeles: B pros: beautiful people and weather cons: sprawl, traffic, illegals
San Francisco A (pros: Gay Friendly, Very Green, liberal cons: crazy expensive, homeless

My uncle (raised in liberal boston) just moved there last year and the last time I saw him he became a white supremacist using ethnic slurs regularly and bragged all day on how great houston is. ugh
Dallas C (pros: cheap, economy, nightlife cons: sprawl, its texas) why do i think of blondes, glitter and hairspray?

Minneapolis B- (pros: pretty, friendly, cheap cons: uber cold)
Chicago A- (pros: burbs are relatively inexpensive, vibrant, great buildings, downtown, nice people, wrigley/cubs cons: omg the crime - southside is SCARY, a little whitetrashy for me.
Indianapolis F (pros: a friend lives there.... cons: car racing, Colts, its indiana......did i mention payton?
Miami A- (pros: south beach alone is incredible, i also love Ft. Laud., its gay scene cons: very expensive, rest of city is gross
New York A (pros: manhattan, brooklyn are great, 24 hr transportation, its got everything cons: uber expensive
Boston A- (biased) (pros: history, liberal, redsox, universities, smart people (why is that a bad thing), clean, irish bars galore, close to cape cons: very expensive to live here, winter sucks, overzealous sports fans and thier attire - its rediculous)
Philadelphia B+ (pros: really like the town, its beautiful and historic in the nice areas, cheesesteaks and the philly's cons: omg north philly is the scariest place i've ever been to - i.e. temple university, its also very dirty)
Los Angeles: F - Horrible
San Francisco B - Nice
Seattle A - Underrated
Denver C- - Overrated
Houston D- - Only LA is worse
Dallas B+ - Good for what it is
Omaha C+ - Not as bad as most people think
Minneapolis A- - The Twin Cities are fun
Chicago B - Too Expensive
Indianapolis D- First one I have agreed with. Booorrriinnnggg
Miami D - Visiting is nice, but living there?
New York C+ - too hyped, too expensive
