According to the 2000 census new york state had a Greek population of 160,000....just curious how many of these would be in NYC? im assuming its grown now...the metro area couldnt be more then 250,000 could it?
Here in Australia we have 150,000 Greeks in Melbourne according to the 2006 census, however the rest of the state of Victoria barely has 5,000 so everyone here is concentrated in the main city...some claim we have between 300,000 to 600,000 which is ridiculous and unrealistic.
Sydney has about 100,000 but the rest of the state probably has about 10,000 more as well.
From what i've read Illinois is at 94,000...how much of that would be in Chicago?
seems as though everyone seems to overestimate the figures.

I know in the Syracuse area, many are concentrated on the. Eastside of Syracuse, into the Eastern suburbs(especially DeWitt). Some more are sprinkled into the Western and Northern suburbs. Here's some good information: Home
Don't consider myself "Greek American" as I was born and raise in America... but my Grandparents were born in Greece.
