What US cities are similar to Boston and Chicago?

It kinda depends on what kind of "things to do" you like to do. Are you into opera or monster truck rallies? Fine dining or hole-in-the wall burrito joints? Polo or basketball? It also depends on what stage of life you are in and how much disposable income you have.

I actually found a few similarities of Seattle to the city of Boston.

I would think cities like Philadelphia, San Francisco, New York, and Washington DC would fit the bill.

I feel like if you combined Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia you could wind up with a mini New York.
