My husband and I have moved from Florida and can't decide on Georgia, Tenn, Carolinas. We are both active and not ready to retire, so a good area for jobs.

Love the mountains, lakes, forestry for hunting, 4 wheeling, pasture, mini-farm, but looking for the most reasonable pricing.

Any suggestions, from anyone?????

Mountains and jobs really do not mix here.. I like TN. I find NC a little too annoying on some regulations but still, lovely places and there are some real winters there vs TN and GA where its a lot of slush

I think I would look at certain cities in mountainous areas of each state you are considering first to see what the job cituations are like in your fields . Then I'd look at areas to live in within what you would consider a reasonable commute ( for many people I've known living in the mountains , that is a round 45 minutes to 1 hour commute - one way !)
Areas I'd look at are:
1) Dahlonega/ Dawsonville/Gainsville - for Georgia
2) Chattanooga - for Tennessee (The Cumberland Mountain chain is an especially pretty area around Mont Eagle)
3) Ashville / Franklin - for North Carolina
