How do you compare similar areas in Augusta to Atlanta.... The criteria is vibrancy, cosmopolitan, walkable, quality of life, things to do, nightlife, arts/culture, economy...

1. West Augusta vs Alpharetta(White collar communities with several mid-rise buildings full of major companies)

2. Evans vs Roswell(Majority white upper middle class suburbs with plenty of medium to large strip malls)

3. Martinez vs Vinings(Nice areas but not often talked about)

4. North Augusta vs Sandy Springs(Used to be higher in the pecking order, but still good areas)

5. Aiken vs East Cobb(Family communites but kinda far from the ''action'')

6. Upper Broad/Artist Row vs Decatur city( Artsy places full of preppy white people)

7. Summerville/Hill vs Buckhead(Old money & wealth)

I have nothing against Augusta but it's actually unfair to compare it against Atlanta. Keep Augusta in the 2nd tier cities and compare it against Columbus and Savannah....

Why I'm not comparing the metro vs metro? Only specific areas vs specific areas....

I was actually going to try and compare fairly but I canned the idea.
After Sandy Springs I would've had to do alot of research though but I'm fairly sure Atlanta's metro cities in the list are all on top except Evans. It just isn't a good comparison.
I don't like either so I'm not standing up for either city.

Come now, about the only thing that Atlanta and Augusta have in common is that they are both in Georgia.

I think some people are getting stuck on the size of metro Atlanta. Instead of the size of the individual areas themselves. For example West Augusta is a little bigger than Alpharetta. So they definitely can be compared against each other...

Some of the Alpharetta companies. ADP, AT&T, E-Trade, General Electric, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, E-Trade, Verizon, etc..

Some of the West Augusta companies. ADP, T-Mobile, ERS, Global Emergency Resources, Care South, Delta, Knology, Teleperformance, etc.

Still not a fair comparison, at all. Do you honestly believe West Augusta can compete with Alpharetta in any way, shape or form? Honestly?

I'm sorry, but they still don't compare...

Also, what are the types of jobs at these different companies in Alpharetta and do they compare to the types of jobs in the W.Augusta companies that you listed?

Alpharetta has become a hotbed of good jobs, a lot of them in IT. There are actually more jobs than residents, and the entire area is pretty much upscale. It simply is not a fair comparison.
