Hi there everyone. I'll be moving from Ohio to the Albany, Ga area in November of this year. I was interested in the Leesburg area and wondered if anyone could give me some info about it, and if that is the best option for my wife and me. We're a Caucasian couple which aren't racist at all, but would prefer to live in a more white dominated community. We love the heat and the outdoors - things like canoeing, hiking, bike riding etc...

Is Leesburg for us? Any other/better options withing commuting distance of Albany? Also, i've heard basements are not allowed here - is this true?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Thanks mike! I've heard a lot about Lee county which is the reason I'm so interested.

I will be working in downtown Albany, but would like to live more north in the Lee county area. Unless someone can give me a reason to stay closer to Albany or give any other suggestions. Has anything been done to revamp the downtown area? I heard a couple years ago that it was pretty depressed and crime ridden. Any recent improvements?

oh, and the schools in lee county (leesburg) are a lot better and safer than the ones in albany. a majority of the lee county population is people that have left albany for whatever reason!!
