My husband thinks he wants to move to Wrens. We haven't seen the town yet, but I've read the demographics and checked into it on the computer. Population 2,000 -- a verrrry small town. I am a city girl all the way. I want to live in Evans, close to Augusta, but that's not happening. My compromise is Thomson. It looks like a very cute town, and the more I read about it, the more I love it. And I haven't even seen it yet.

Can anyone tell me one positive thing about living in Wrens? I can't think of one good thing. We are not coming to any agreements at all, and that's not good.

Have you thought of separate homes.
There is nothing wrong with Wrens or Evans
In Wrens you will Know everyone by name and you will hear the crickets and see the stars at night. 5 acres is such a tiny lot.
Thomson has a Walmart!

Wrens is not that far from Augusta. I live in the greater Augusta area (on the SC side), and Wrens is included in our viewing area, as is Thompson. You might be splitting hairs.

Thank you so much for replying. I apologize, by the way. I didn't mean for my post to sound like there might be something wrong with Wrens. It is very small, and I prefer larger cities. That's all. And no, seperate homes is not an option. LOL! We will come to an agreement.

--Thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate it. We will go check it out soon, and then make a more informed decision. I was basing my opinions totally by looking at the stats on paper. I haven't even seen either town - Wrens or Thomson. I just figured I would prefer the larger (and very cute) town of Thomson automatically. I like to be near "stuff". Wish it had a Target instead of a Wal-Mart, though. I love Target stores. :0)

I hear Aiken is darling! But it would be too far away from where we need to be. :0) But thank you for your suggestion! :0)

I have passed through Wrens a few times. If I am not mistaken they have a huge gourd 'lot' on the south side of town. Hundreds of gourds. Maybe even thousands. And I think they have a La Cabana's Mexican restaurant there. Not too bad as far as Georgia Mexican places. So... if you need a gourd and like Mexican food, there are two positive things about Wrens.
