What is up with the crime rate in Brunswick Georgia? I was reading that they have had 16 murders there this year? Considering the small population, that seems like ALOT!
Their crime rates are throught the roof. Can someone tell me if this is a new trend, and if so...do you think it will continue. I live in ATL so I know crime, but I don't want to leave one crime ridden area for another.

Good question and I'd like to know the answer as well.

Seems like the murder rate has soared since the Christopher Barrios murder that received national attention. Almost a year later and the city is still shell shocked from that incident.

I don't know if one has to do with the other.

The feedback I've heard is that statistically, Brunswick doesn't even come close to the crime rates of larger cities, so we shouldn't be complaining. (((sigh)))

Go to www.brunswickpolice.org, according to that site there have been two murders this year.
We have lived in in Brunswick for over 20 years and i have never seen anything other that a few car accidents. I am sure it depends where you live, but i feel pretty safe here.
