My advice to anyone that is considering a move to southwest Georgia, DO NOT pick Albany, Georgia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The job market is very poor and the crime rate is very high!!!!!!!!!! The only true money is at Phoebe Putney hospital and at miller brewing! In other words sickness and alcohol!!!!!!!!!! This is one of my opinions on a miserable city!!!!!!!

Take a look at Ellijay, Blue Ridge (I love that town) and Blairsville.

I believe you 100%. The same thing is going on near the Vidalia - Mount Vernon - Soperton, Georgia areas and beyond (Toombs, Montgomery & Treutlen counties). People who don't live here think we're exaggerating, even when I show them the news reports. They still believe that Aunt Bea and Andy are going to invite them to Opie's birthday party. So much has changed since we moved here - and it has especially changed in the last 5 years.

The drugs are driving the crime and it seems that most folks prefer to turn their head and look the other way. One day, they will wake up in a third world country and wonder what happened.

Just yesterday, someone shot a hole in the water tower and caused water pressure problems. Gangs shoot bullet holes through stop signs or scribble MS-13 on the signs. Then, there is the dentist who was indicted for a meth lab, and the stories go on........

We're looking to relocate and are in the process of looking elsewhere right now.

I used to live in Thomasville. Never again. Absolutely despise the area, its weather, and the cliques that have formed between the elitist families in the area. If you have don't have the right last name or go to the right church in Thomasville, you might as well consider yourself an outcast from the start.
