My Family have found some land in Wrightsville,GA that we are considering purchasing for a future retirment Home. My question is for anyone who lives there African American or Caucasian of race. I am Caucasian and my Wife is African American, we have bi racial childeren together. I am concerned on how this is excepted in this small town and if we would experience any problems from either races if we were to move to this town? Also, if you can give me any other information about this town that could be helpful and if this town has the potential to grow in the future? Thanks C

Perhaps I can help out. My family has a little under 200 acres up the road from you in Toomsboro and I've spend many weekends hunting and enjoying the silence. (I live and work in Atlanta). I don't know where you're re-locating from, but that whole area is pretty nice. By nice I mean you and your family can enjoy the country yet would only be a 20 mile drive to the local Wally World (I think the closest would be to the east in Swainsboro) or other amenities (southwest in Dublin). The area economy is heavily agriculturally based, but there are several Kaolin plants scattered around. I would be comfortable saying that Wrightsville is at a cross roads economically speaking. Demographically, in Wrightsville the tilt would be more AA than Caucasian but probably not by much; but Johnson Co tilt would be more Caucasian. Having grown up in Georgia, & having seen both the good & bad so to speak, I doubt there would be significant problems with your family moving there. Grant it, there will be the occasional idiots on both sides, but I think for the most part you’ll find that once your family gets settled, no one will think anything of it. Good luck with everything!!
