Can anybody provide some info regarding Rockmart ? Many houses are for sale there but I'm wondering why people seem to be fleeing the area. Thanks.

There is nothing particularly good or bad about Rockmart. It just kind of is. I would assume that Northwest Georgia's struggling job market would be the main reason for vacancy. It is close enough to places like Rome, Cedartown, Cartersville, Dallas, and Hiram that if you had a job in one of those markets it would be a reasonable place to live.

Most of the homes for sale in Rockmart are located in the Yorkville community which sits in both counties of Polk and Paulding counties. Half of Yorkville have Rockmart zip code (30153) and other half have Dallas zip code (30157).

Default Rockmart, GA

Does anyone have new 2011 info on this area? Seems like old posts from 2006&2007. Would like more info other than it is a ghost town.

2006/2007? This thread was started back in January of this year.

I wouldn't consider Rockmart a ghost town. What kind of info are you wanting to know about Rockmart?
