Savannah or any south ga town is what your looking for. Savannah is a bigger city while places like albany, brunswick, waycross and valdosta are smaller towns.

I think for you the beach is a little too far from valdosta I would second savannah however I'm not trying to drive you away from it if you end up considering it.
