Canton, Holly Springs, or Cumming. Still in the metro, but a very quick trip to the mountains.

From Canton: 25 minutes

From Holly Springs: 30 minutes

From Cumming: 30-40 minutes

It's also a very famous town known in the coin collecting world for it's gold and gold coins, with the gold dollars and the half eagles ( $5.00 gold coins ) last minted there in 1861 being very rare and pricey.

While I deal in Southern Mint gold, I've never been to Dahlonega but it's definitely on my list.
