As I told another "wanna move to GA fan", beware of the gnat line. North GA quality of life tends to be a little better than South GA in my opinion and I've lived both. Most small towns in GA are dead. Dead and getting more dead all the time as the economy continues to fail.

Please tell me what "small" means to you?

I've lived in PA twice. I personally think it beat GA by a bunch except for cold weather but at least you don't have gnats and fire ants. But a fair number of towns in GA have small hospitals. Whether they employ people of your skill set I don't know.

You could inquire at the 2 Athens, GA medical facilities and live in an adjacent rural county. I just don't know why you would want to do that in all honesty.

Get into the best school you can that offers what you want to learn. Worry about how much that will cost and how much debt you'll end up with. Many people move after college especially in the medical field. You can move to where you can find a job.

I'm from the Northeast and small towns up there including PA are nothing like small towns in the South. Have you visited here? Before you get your heart set on moving somewhere, you really need to visit and see what things are like.

i am doing my schooling here in pennsylvania, at penn state, actually. i want to move because i just would like a change in scenery.. some friends of mine had visited georgia and told me how beautiful it is. as for the small town, i would just like something that is wholesome, with a low crime, and is more laid back. something like Atlanta is not for me, i do not like the hustle and bustle of the city. yes, i would be visiting next summer-ish and am trying to decide between GA or TN or any southern state actually. would just like to get out of PA and explore the beauty of another state!
