cali to Georgia (Atlanta, Smyrna, Dalton: apartments, live, gangs)

Looking for honest input from those that knows Georgia well, I am wanting to relocate my family to Georgia, I heard there is a huge concentration of Hispanics and Hispanic gangs there now , what areas would great to avoid that sort of activity, honesty is what I really would like to hear plz, sorry if I am offending anyone, but here is Cali, its one of the major reasons we are wanting to leave this place.

the state of Georgia is far too wide an area to give you an accurate description of gang activity. You need to be way more specific about where you want to move.

What you heard sounds very inaccurately generalized also. I've lived in middle Georgia and Atlanta for 10 years and have never had an encounter with a hispanic gang.

Thank you very much, from what I was told most are near some area called buford? supposed to be a long stretch round with lots of apartments and lots of that activity there, not sure if I am spelling that correctly, nor do I have a clue where this is

Mexicans are on the way out. I'd say that the "hispanic" population has halved since the start of the recession.

If you avoid the following areas, you'll be okay:

1) Gwinnett County (Norcross Area, parts of Duluth)
2) Dekalb County (Buford Highway Area: Chamblee & Doraville)
3) Smyrna: Windy Hill Road Area (between South Cobb Drive & Atlanta Road)
4) Parts of Dalton
5) Parts of Gainesville

That's Buford Highway (toward Chamblee, Doraville, Norcross, and Duluth), not necessarily the city of Buford, which is generally okay. Buford Highway does go all the way up to Buford, however.

Well that helps a lot all of you, are they on their way out the state? LOL or just that area ?, I will be sure to look at those areas on the map to get an idea, where not to look for housing.
