I made a trip last fall and stayed over night in Dahlonega. It was great fun and the wines were excellent too.

Here are the places that I went to:

Frogtown Cellars - Winery, Wine Tasting & Events in Dahlonega, Georgia

BlackStock Vineyards and Winery | Wine, Music, Food in the North Georgia Mountains

Wolf Mountain Vineyards | Georgia's premier wine and food experience. was packed! The restaurant was sold out for lunch and dinner the day I was there so make reservations in advance if you plan to eat there.

Three Sisters Vineyards in Northeast Georgia Wine Country

Welcome to Montaluce Winery and Estates Had an excellent brunch on Sunday and a quick tour of the winery.

We went on a similar tour through Dalohnega and ate at the restaurant at Montaluce Winery, which was quite nice. We visited and tasted at the same places. You can easily make it an overnight trip if you want to take your time and linger.

I third the recommendation for Monteluce. While their wine isn't the very best, the food is great and not overpriced. The property is beautiful. I'd encourage you to eat there for lunch, and focus on the white wines there.

For red wines, Frogtown is the best IMO.

For sparkling wines, Wolf Mountain has some fantastic offerings.

Blackstock's Viognier Reserve is probably the best wine coming out of Georgia right now. They know what they are doing with this grape.

I'd also give a nod to Wolf Mountain's very fine Claret from 2009. I'd still wait on it for a year or so.
