Hello all!!

We are looking to relocate this year and really, we are very open as far as location or state. We currently live in the suburbs of Houston and while we love it here, we really are lacking a great sense of community. I am hoping to get some help from the great people here so we can start on the right foot.

A bit about us, my husband is an accountant, I'm a photographer and we have children elementary age and younger, number 4 is on the way.

Here is our wishlist

1. Great schools
2. Close to a big city (40 miles or less)
3. Small Town Feel (festivals, whole town school spirit, etc)
4. Great sense of community
5. Larger home lots available
6. We are Caucasian and prefer not to be the minority.

I hope this isn't too vague or too specific. I just need somewhere to start. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!!

Nena

Decatur...done.

Downtown Norcross is very nice, but the schools...eh
Downtown Marietta is very nice, but the schools...eh

Athens? bit further out though

I'd go with Decatur, only thing is lot size...most lots are city lots which are about 8-10k sq ft. That being said 8k is plenty to have a yard to throw a baseball with your kids or run the dogs.

You might want to take a look at Senoia in Coweta county. Beautiful small southern town on the outskirts of Atlanta on the southwest side. Schools are good in the area.
