7.5 cent per gallon tax plus a 3% sales tax plus a 1% sales tax that goes into the general fund...For a combined on average 21.2 cent tax per gallon. Also the 1% tax into the general fund lowers the overall amount going into road construction.

They should redo the tax for simplicity and have it set by a non-partisan independent panel which does a 10 year forecast provided by the state universities. This would take the politics out of it and allow us to grow smartly...
