I've just joined this forum but before I joined I really read alot of the threads, Georgia ones In particular, and I've noticed that alot of people try to compare Macon to Columbus, which in my opinion is comparing penny to a dollar..... I just want to know why so many Maconites try to argue that Macon is on the same level as Columbus? It amuses me actually..

Being the second largest city in the state, Macon and all the other second level cities of Georgia lag behind Columbus. Columbus Crossings, Peachtree Mall, The Riverwalk. What other second level Gergia city can say they have an Ezell's Catfish Cabin??? Columbus is the only real option for true urban life outside of Atlanta in the state of Georgia.

I just do not understand the logic behind trolling for Columbus, or any other city, anywhere, for that matter. If anything you scare people away because it insinuates the town is full of immature teenagers.

Exactly. It's pretty sad, actually, reflects very poorly on the city, and does no favors for the real Columbus posters who exist here who try to be more balanced and mature when discussing their city.

But hey, what can you say? It's summertime and school is out.

Why do we try to prove which city is better? Why don't we just say that they are even and move along? You people are morons. I guess since everyone here hates Macon, and loves Columbus, I have to say this: I HEART MACON SO MUCH IT SO COOL I LOVE IT THERE THERE SO MUCH TO DO I CAN GO TO BEACH AND THEN ENJOY CITY LIFE THEN GO OUT INTO THOSE SMALL TOWNS AND THEN GO TO DOWNTOWN AGAIN AND SLEEP IN THE LEAKY HOTEL (no really, just look at this: Ramada Plaza Hotel Macon (Macon, GA) - Hotel Reviews - TripAdvisor)

Enough...... Stop all the debating between 2nd tier cities, while you sit here and argue, nothing is getting accomplished, if you look at north Carolina they have multiple large metropolitans, Georgia can be the same way...... the only reason Atlanta is the way it is, is because of its alpha status..... i think cities like Augusta and Columbus could easily grow to the size of Raleigh..... lets face it people going to continue to flood Georgia and they will eventually spread all over not just Atlanta...... We need to be beating up other states not our own people......
