Kudzu seems bad when you see it in all its glory, but privet hedge forms berries and birds love these berries and they pass thru the birds unharmed and are spread everywhere. In my area it seems to be coming into its prime, while kudzu is stagnant. At the moment I vote for privet hedge as the most notorious just because of the way it is spread.

Ok, I grant you that one. I have found tho that privet is easier to eradicate from a particular area if you get it by the root. We have some privet and some kudzu on the property in Meriwether planted by a great aunt on a house site over 100 years ago. Can you imagine? She planted some kudzu on a trellis to shade the porch and planted privet for a hedge. The house was long gone by the time I came around, but the privet and kudzu had overtaken the site. About 25 years ago, we cleared the site, pulled up the privet with a tractor and a chain, cleared the site with a small bulldozer. Privet is gone, but kudzu came back and remains to this day.
