sprint has coverage in the county, but i think the further you get from the interstate you start roaming on verizon towers, and your data connection will most likely suffer.

i tether my verizon blackberry when i'm traveling and its works great. they have the best coverage in our area. at&t only has 3g within the city of valdosta.

Satellite internet stinks. They have data caps, and the speeds never reach what you pay for; latency is an issue also. However, wildblue (satellite ISP) was purchased by viasat some time last year and they're about to launch a new satellite w/ 100Gbps throughput; I believe they are going to offer speeds around 12Mbps to consumers. The base package should be around 2Mpbs and somewhere around $50-$60/mo. I've heard speeds of 18Mbps mentioned but either way you can expect those prices to be will above $100/mo; probably closer to $150. Once its available WB should be a viable option for you.
