I don't care if the estimates were higher than Richmond because it's estimates showing the opposite...

Columbus MSA 2020-2010

334,820-294,865=39,995

Augusta MSA 2020-2010

608,456-556,877= 51,579

And since you accepted those I'm sure you would accept these two to be fair right?

Muscogee County:
216,588-186,505 = 30,083

Richmond County:
210,299-199,663= 10,636

So what if Augusta MSA is larger than Columbus. You Augusta posters got upset by the county numbers, not the MSA numbers.

Stop trying to change the subject from the original debate... You said the OP started the thread to show the estimates, and for no other reason.. I simply asked then why didn't he include the raw numbers in terms of the metros... I'm sure it's because it showed metro Augusta gaining more people... My comment said nothing about whether I accept the estimates or anything else.. We can bring up estimates until were blue in the face...

Richmond 200,549 to 203,152
Muscogee 189,885 to 191,574
Miami, L.A. suburb rise on largest counties list - The Business Journals

I just think it's funny Riverdawg and dpatt can't repond to this thread, but people from other cities respond all the time... Also why are people from other cities allowed to disagree with these stats?

Atlanta 5,268,860 - 5,422,852 = 153,992
Augusta 556,877 - 570,510 = 13,633
Savannah 347,611 - 358,525 = 10,914
Athens 192,541 - 196,528 = 3,987
Columbus 294,865 - 298,289 = 3,424
Macon 232,293 - 233,689 = 1,396

Population of New York City area reaches 19 million - The Business Journals

Why do we have to be upset, offended, etc after responding? When the clear evidence shows the majority of comments, threads, etc comparing the cities didn't come from Augusta posters..

The estimates were for the Metros and Counties and if you can add or subtract you can get the raw numbers yourself. There wasn't any raw numbers for either it just showed population changes for the next 20 years based on the estimates...Me changing subjects? Ha! You are notorious for that in here based on what I'm reading ...Norton if 10 people were telling you a light was green you'd say it was red.....

Also, I never said no one couldn't comment I said no one from Columbus said anything about their city...Augustans bought that to the forum...That was the original subject that me and you had....so who's really changing subjects?

That data is old! I wish you stop posting the link. The new estimates was released on July 1,2012. Stop embarrassing yourself.

The census estimates are based on 2010-2011, and the business journal estimates are the population estimate of January 2012..

So infact the census estimates are old compare to this, and you're only embarrassing yourself..

By then Lee County will probably be in the Columbus metro area anyways. So that would more than likely be the metro population of Columbus by then, we can only hope. I never go by metro pop anyway. Lee County is separated by the river, literally a stones throw away. I consider it anyways when talking about the size of the Columbus area.
