Im a young black woman with a toddler thinking of relocating to Marietta, Ga. I would like to know if Marietta, Ga is diverse. I been researching Ga and I saw that Marietta had nice amenties and great schools. Speaking of schools can you tell me some of the best daycares in the area and some great pre schools. Im really interested in Marietta Ga....but wont move here if it isnt diverse to my likings. Now as far as restaurants....by this town being mostly white....do african americans get looked upon differently when entering certain restaurants in Marietta, Ga? I had duluth, Ga as a runner up...so if there is any information you would like to share on duluth, ga i would love to know. thanks

Marietta is pretty diverse in my experience, for a suburb. Some parts of Marietta are more diverse than others. Many of the public schools are great! not all though. Most of the people I have met in Marietta are from other parts of the country. I can't think of any restaurant or business that you would be treated badly, I've heard bad things about really rural areas, but anywhere close to Atlanta isn't going to be like that, in my experience.
Our boys went to The Goddard School for pre-k and we loved it. Many pre-k's have the state subsidized option, I liked it very much. There are tons of pre-k's around here, if you look for a mom's group in the area you choose, they will offer you a ton of info and experience.
The elementary schools that I know of that get great reviews are Mt. Bethel, Timber Ridge and Sope Creek. I know there are others that are good but those are the closest to me, so I hear more specific reviews about them.
