Just curious if any folks are still around from this era. I was from Greenville SC and graduated from Clemson in 1979 and took a management job at the Amoco plant in Bainbridge. Amoco was hiring like crazy and training a core mgmt team to staff the new plant that was under construction in Andalusia AL. All of us new college grads/mgmt trainees had to manage shifts in each dept - extrusion, beaming, spinning, weaving, etc. We worked a "swing shift" rotation... a week on 1st shift, a week on 2nd, a week on 3rd, then a week off. It was crazy and we were all walking zombies from lack of sleep...

I lived in the Scenic Arms apartments on Shotwell Street. I remember going to local bars to see a band called Bonnie Blue. There were "river raft trips" down a river with another Amoco plant, I think it was called Hazlehurst? I remember dating a gorgeous red-headed lady named Kathy Simpson. And a beautiful local girl named Barbara Benninghoff. Both of these lovely ladies stole my heart (at different times, of course) and I have often wondered whatever became of them. But this was a very long time ago. When the Bainbridge plant hit hard times and started laying off in 1982, I headed back to Greenville SC to find work.

I remember a couple of Mgmt Trainees named removed - names. If you wish to locate people use the people forum for that posting please.

Anybody out there who was a part of any of this?
