Good afternoon everyone! I am relocating to Georgia in the near future and was hoping to get some advice. My new position will require me to live within an hour of Macon and I am having a difficult time navigating where I should look to plant roots. My daughters are competitive cheerleaders and I would have to drive them to Marietta at least 2-4 days per week so somewhere in between both towns with great schools would be amazing! Thank you in advance for any insight!!

I am surprised if there are no competitive cheerleading teams in Macon. They seem to be all over metro Atlanta.

That drive to Marietta is Brutal in the afternoons/evenings on the surface streets and interstate highways. I don't know if you plan on public or private HS. Its takes almost takes 2 hours some days.

McDonough, GA in Henry county is almost exactly an hour drive to Macon. Living anywhere north of McDonough and it would add a some time to your commute south.

Here are the closest competitive cheerleading teams

ATA
A-Towne Allstars
852 Dailey Mill Road
McDonough, GA 30253
770) 898-9333

World Xtreme Gymnastics & Cheerleading - CHEERLEADING
World Xtreme Gymnastics & Cheer
338 McDonough Parkway
McDonough, GA 30253
(770) 957-5970

Storm Elite Cheerleading
]Storm Elite Cheerleading
9120 Wheat Street
Covington, GA 30014
(678) 625-0855

35 to 45 minutes drive from McDonough

Union Grove High School and Ola High School are top 5 in the state for competitive cheerleading teams.

Both are some of best schools in the state.

Only 45 minutes drive to Atlanta if you want to do some fun stuff. Henry county has lots of parks, it has a half rural/half suburban feel. Plenty of shopping, restaurants.

" would have to drive them to Marietta at least 2-4 days per week so somewhere in between both towns with great schools would be amazing!"

Not going to happen. Not from anywhere within an hour of Macon.

Henry Country schools are going to be the best schools on the south side of Atlanta.

But there's no way you are going to be able to leave work in Macon, pick up your girls and get them to Marietta 2-4 days a week. Look for alternatives to the Marietta thing.

The Henry county high school options listed above may be your best bet.

This may be helpful -

Starr's Mill and Whitewater are Fayette county but more than an hour from Macon.

#5 in AAAAA is in Houston county - near Macon. That may be an option

Perry, GA, south of Macon, and Forsyth, GA, north of Macon are nice as well.
