Greetings from coastal Louisiana. We are intending to move to the southern Appalachia, Georgia or North Carolina, no farther north, at some time over the next few years. Very interested in small towns, as we are country people. I see many posts regarding cities and towns that are tourist draws...can you kind folks point out some that aren't? We don't need a lot of amenities. Good Internet for our work, a sizeable grocer like an Ingles or some such, would love a farmer's market too. We don't need alot of glitzy tourist attractions, but reasonable distance from medical care, a good veterinarian and access to basic needs and wants. Our interests include fly fishing and hiking, gardening, peace and quiet, As noted, we're small-town people and want to continue to be, we love what we have found there and we're NOT coming to Appalachia to change a thing about it. Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest looking at Suches and Morganton . Both are in beautiful areas of the state and have access to the Toccoa river which is excellent for fly fishing .

Excellent recommendations. Check out also Ducktown / Copper Hill. On the Toccoa River as well.

Since the OP mentioned fishing... hope there are some good places not too far where you are looking to live.

Good luck in your move!
