Hello, I am going to paint a better picture of my situation so that I can get some good advice from you.

I will be moving from Florida to Georgia early in the new year.
I am a single, early 30s Corporate Trainer (for Graphic Design & Sales Teams) and Art Director.

So I am interested in:

-best counties for work and live in, parks so I can run outside, water, friendly people, places to socialize and meet other people and affordable housing.

I will go to Georgia at next month to visit some of the places (counties), hopefully, you will recommend.

I welcome your advice, comments and I thank you in advance.

I would suggest moving to Smyrna which is in Cobb County. New Townhomes there start in the low to mid 200s and new homes begin in the 400s. Existing homes usually will require work but they go for about $200-300,000. Smyrna offers access to the Silver Commet Trail, which is a really long biking and jogging route that stretches from Cobb County west to Alabama. Its a really beatiful trail in any season and its a great place to meet people in the area. Many of the new townhome developments along the East-West Connector back up to the trail and offers entrances from the commnunity so you wouldnt have to drive to one of the trail's other entrances. Bars, restaurants, shopping plazas, and boutiques are plentiful in Smyrna and nearby affluent Vinings. You would also have Buckhead, the core of the city as far as entertainment goes, within about 15 to 20 mintues from your home.

Cobb County has a plethora of jobs as well in its Platinum Traingle distrct which borders both Smyrna and Vinings. I don't know if you will be starting your own business here or if you will be looking for employment. Most people like to try to live within a reasonable distance of their jobs because of Atlanta's headache causing traffic. If you can find a job in Buckhead, Cobb County, Sandy Springs/Dunwoody, or downtown then I would say Smyrna would be the perfect place to live for a thirty-something professional.
