Yes. Sometimes. Here are pics from my house in Mableton in 2011.

Edit: I should add that that's the most snow I've seen at one time here in 12 years. And it only lasted for a week. Most was gone in just a few days.

I saw snow with some accumulation (gone in hours) This year down here in central GA. Makes me LOL because I'm a Wyoming native and had just gotten back from a 3-week ski trip to Montana... people were freaking out and the roads were barely getting wet.

There's two different kinds of "snow" I classify down here. One that's heavy enough to accumulate, and one that isn't.

The latter I see a few times per decade.

The former (meaning 1 inch or more on the ground) only happens once every 20 years. Last time it happened was February 2010.

I live below the fall line, though. Areas in the Georgia Piedmont see the accumulating stuff once every other year and the mountains see it every year.

Spillover from Jonas? Yeah, I got a little bit of that too. Only came down for about 20 minutes or so. No accumulation.

Yes, it does but very rarely does it accumulate beyond an inch or so. From what I've seen, usually it's just a few snow flurries. Any snow that does fall usually melts on the same day or by the next. I'm not so certain about those who live in the mountains. They may have a different story to tell.

For the OP's sake...

This is a poster in South Georgia near the coast.

For those of in Atlanta, like rcsteiner, we get several snowfalls a year that do not stick, several ice accumulations a year, and then I would say we average about once a year where snow actually sticks. Granted, the latter might not happen for 2 or 3 years and then in one year it will happen a few times.

Atlanta's average annual snowfall is just a hair under 3 inches for the year.

In my 33 years here, I'd say the snow in rcsteiner's pictures happens about every 5 years. Now Atlanta's geography differs. The southern part of the metro gets much less. We also have elevations that are typically anywhere between 500 ft and 1400ft. Higher elevations and hills that face north tend to get more snow that sticks sooner.

We also get a small blizzard about once every 15-20 years or so.

For people in some parts of rural North Georgia, rcsteiner's pictures are an annual sight.

In many ways Georgia is kind of the Southern extents of snow in this country.

One oddity is most our precipitations comes from the Gulf with warm air. Most of our cold fronts come from the midwest with a very dry air, especially once it pushes this far south.

The biggest winter weather problems we have is when in one day we get warm thunderstorms from the Gulf followed by a big push of cold air from the midwest that freezes everything. We get problems with ice coating pine trees that aren't able to handle the weight and black ice on the roads.

The northern mountains get quite a bit of snow and other wintry mix.
Atlanta usually sees flurries or non accumulating snow a few times during winter. Snow that accumulates is iffy.

Ok, so it snows but really doesn't stick.
