I only included central cities, i agree Decatur is very left wing, but Atlanta is the central city. Athens is just far enough away from Atlanta that it constitutes it's own central city, even though there are a fair amount of commuters between Athens and Atlanta. The university and bars create an economy quite different from Atlanta. While Atlanta's economy is more diverse, Athens depends on the university and a thriving art and music scene.

CSU's Art,Music,Theater and Drama programs are very well known in the southeast. Add the performing arts center,The Columbus Museum which is the 2nd or 3rd largest art museum in the state and the art school that's being built on Macon road. That alone creates a niche buzz for Columbus as a progressive city

No, Columbus shouldn't have any votes either.

Well then, Atlanta is the answer. I mean Decatur and Clarkston are within the the Atlanta Metro area as well.

This is just an asinine poll. Everyone knows Atlanta is the most progressive city in Georgia. All this poll is going to do is start a pointless argument over who's second place.

Athens headquarters the communist party of Georgia, while Atlanta is filled with capitalists. I've always felt too liberal in Atlanta, but fit in with the majority of Athens, as a socialist

Well since you brought it up ... Whatever regional "buzz" CSU and the Columbus Museum may create pales ENORMOUSLY to the INTERNATIONAL "buzz" that SCAD has brought to Savannah, where there's a museum, gallery or historic site on literally every block.

But I still voted for Atlanta ...

So tired of these same ol compairing GA cities treads, they should be banned by now especially when we know the answers.. The poll isn't even complete with GA cities over 100,000 in population but thats even pointless when we have enough of these

It really doesn't. There are conservative/moderate cities out there with all of that plus a lot more.

I'm not understanding how it wouldn't. Some cities like Columbus would consider that a change to their culture.
