I was looking at relocation to Atlanta with family of 4 and two small children. Is 100k salary good for Atlanta/Alpharetta area?

Yes, it's fine. While you won't be able to keep up with the "Tiramisu" crowd (similar to the wine crowd...lawyers and liars) it will be more than sufficient to live there comfortably as well as the surrounding areas to include Cumming, Johns Creek, Suwanee, Alpharetta, Roswell, Crabapple.....etc.....100k combined with 2 kids should net you what, roughly 72-75K with deductions...roughly $5,700-$6,200 a month?

Unless you have really, really high car payments and want to eat out (favorite past time of Atlanta) constantly, you will be fine....nice place to raise kids. Good public schools and sports programs, low crime rate, and a fair amount of venues and like all places Atlanta, more strip malls than were ever necessary and fully 50+% of the space are restaurants....

Caleb covered it, so long as you're not spending frivolously on tons of "stuff", eating out for every meal and keep your housing cost in check with your budget ($1500~2000 in rent or mortgage for that kind of income if you want money for retirement and fun ~ so topping out in the low $400k range), it's more than enough.
