I am from NC mountains moved to FL 5 years ago and now want to go to TN or GA with my young kids and family .
I can't adapt to FL fast pace and city people lol I stand out put it that way I worry about my kids. schools are good but lack value and close community.
That being said I have no idea where to begin looking in GA ?
I re-store antique furniture and my husband is a folk lift driver and machine operator. I'd love to buy old fixer upper farmhouse with enough land to at least have a garden and my handful of chicken's but also good schools a nice community and hopefully work less then 1h away for my husband I have saved 90cash for a house to buy out right I just need to find out how to find out new home? Any suggestions would be great ).
My hobbies are gardening , canning , woodworking aand animals. I miss the mountains but at the end of the day my kids happiness is most important if I can find them a good safe community where they can have friends and grow up happy I'd live in a shoe box if needed lol
So any help is appreciated and thanks for you time .

Look northeast of Atlanta in Northeast Georgia in the northeastern suburbs and exurbs of Atlanta.

Look for job opportunities for your husband in Gwinnett, Hall and Jackson counties (along the I-85, I-985 and GA 316 corridors) where there are many industrial/warehousing facilities that could offer employment robust opportunities for forklift/machine operators.

Look for housing in mountainous areas of Northeast Georgia in counties like White, Habersham, Lumpkin, Stephens, Dawson, Rabun, Union, Towns, etc.

If you want to return to the mountains of Western North Carolina where you are originally from, the industrial job opportunities noted in Northeast suburban/exurban metro Atlanta are also accessible from the mountains of Southwestern North Carolina by way of major routes like U.S. Highway 23-441/Georgia Highway 365 and Interstate 985.
