If I were you, I'd look into all of these towns and areas
1:Rabun County , the City of Clayton, home of Lake Rabun, Lake Seed and Lake Burton
2:Towns County, the city of Hiawassee, city of Young Harris, home of Lake Chatuge.
3:Union County, the city of Blairsville, home lake Nottely
4:Fannin County, the city of Blue Ridge, home of Lake Blue Ridge
5)Gilmer County,the City of Ellijay.

If it were me, Ellijay would be at the bottom of this list. Though it is a beautiful area, it pales in comparison in my book to the others that I have mentioned.

Much like Blue Ridge , it is an older downtown.Super nice to walk in. Quaint shops and sports outfitters. It also is just down the road from the FoxFire Museum,Black Rock Mountain state park,Tallulah Gorge, the Chattooga River. It also isn't far from Highlands North Carolina, which is another beautiful, fun place to visit. All that plus the 3 lakes I mentioned in my earlier post, make it one of my favorite places in the mountains to go.

Oh, I need to add: Blue Ridge has some absolutely wonderful BBQ joints. If there, check out Joe's. It has been rated as among the best in the country.
