Hi - Does anyone have some suggestions on where would to look for affordable acreage that is no more than an hours commute to Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Marrietta areas? I work in sales so visit customers in those cities. We currently live near Bremen GA with a work at home job but that is likely to change where I will have to visit those areas often. Maybe not every day but enough where it needs to be drive-able.

We have 2 horses and a couple of goats for the kids. Don't need anything fancy just a simple starter home with room for 2 horses (5 acres).

Also let me know what you think we would have to pay for say 5 acres with a basic home on it that is driving distance to those cities.

Ideally we would like to keep the price around 200k if at all possible.

Thanks much,

Scott

You might do well to check around the northern half of Cherokee County. Even there, though, the pickins might be slim.

Along with DJDeadParrot's suggestion of Northern Cherokee County, also checkout outlying Northside exurban and rural areas like Northern Forsyth County, Dawson County, Lumpkin County, Northern Hall County, Bartow County, Gordon County and White County.

These exurban and rural areas are more than likely the areas that will provide you with the best opportunities to find the type of acreage that you are looking for at an affordable price within a reasonable commute of Northside districts like Alpharetta, Sandy Springs and Marietta.

5 acres for $200K? If I'm wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. But I'm gonna file that one under "Unlikely".
