Howdy
My wife's family typically has a family reunion in Georgia. She is Filipino, and has a large family.

They have had, for the past, I don't know, decade, this reunion at a resort in Georgia. They have been concerned that, since Trump's win, they won't be safe down there because they were once immigrants (they are all citizens of the US now). They mentioned changing the spot to Oregon.

However, I can tell at least her mom likes the spot in Georgia. I have been telling them they will be fine to keep in Georgia, not everyone is politically obsessed, and they should continue the tradition. I am correct, right?

Thanks so much!

Are you serious? So if they are concerned about Trump as President why would it be any different to hold it in Oregon over Georgia? And since they are all US citizens, what exactly are they afraid of? That a gestappo will show up as they enter Georgia and put them on a boat to the Phillipines? Whatever one's political leanings may be this seems to be hysteria taken to the extreme.

No recommendations forthcoming from this Georgian. Just too many boogeymen behind the bushes down here in Crackerland.

One post wonder, and looks to be trolling....

Best to just ignore and move on, don't take the bait, let the thread just sink to the bottom and die

Hello
Thanks for your replies. I have been preparing for a trip to Europe for work and am there now..so I am not a troll, just really busy and don't have time to be online that much.

It was a serious question...and a real situation. I appreciate your responses! I will tell them that there is nothing really wrong about having the reunion down there, as always. I thought that was the case.

It's nice to be on here; greetings from Marseilles France, where I am working this week!
