How are Dallas and Acworth GA??

I would be working in Kennesaw, my job has an office there.
Kennesaw seems very nice from the research I have done online, but I see some gorgeous homes in Acworth and especially Dallas.

I would like to know about the areas.... Crime, Schools, things to do...... is it country living, or more city???
BTW, I am engaged and currently have a 3 y/o daughter

please, any info will help

Im also open to suggestions of other towns near Kennesaw with nice houses

looking for a 4 BR, at least 2.5 BA (prefer 2500 sq ft or more)

Dallas is more country than Acworth is for the most part but people keep moving out that way so it could be very "Atlantan" in the future. Acworth is definitely metro Atlanta and is nice. It's also closer to Kennesaw by a good amount.

Default Schools and crime

Thanks so much, for responding.

Do you know if acworth and Dallas have good school systems?

Also, I read online that Dallas has a kind of high crime rate; do you know this to be true?

You will probably get more feedback if you post this in the Atlanta forum. These are all areas that are part of the 15 counties considered part the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Of the 3, I would select Kennesaw. It's a growing community with good schools and homes are appreciating nicely there. Dallas...country...home prices are low but the appreciation is also low. Acworth is a little farther from the city, but it be an easy commute to work.

Other areas that you may want to consider is the East Cobb portion of Marietta and Alpharetta. I used to lived in Alpharetta and had to drive to Kennesaw for work. Commute was about 35-45 minutes depending on traffic.

Not familiar with school specifics but if I had child I would do East Cobb, Alpharetta, or Kennesaw. Crime is low in all of these areas.

Consider Woodstock as well. Not far from Kennesaw, good schools, affordable homes, and very little crime. There is also a decent number of transplants around here, so you will not feel out of place.

I live in Dallas, moved here about 2 years ago from out of state. You will find more house for the money in Dallas or the outskirts of Acworth. My wife works in Kennesaw, her daily commute is 30 minutes but it can be 45 depending on traffic and how she hits red lights. We live close to the Cobb County line, so the further into Dallas you go, obviously that commute can get longer.

Crime is here, I'm not sure its any worse than Acworth or Kennesaw. I have heard about a number of car break ins on the Nextdoor app.

Dallas is growing fast, traffic can be a bit bad depending on the time of the day. The roads out here are mostly 2 lanes (1 lane on either side) so it gets stuffy in the morning and afternoon. Nothing too serious, but if you are going to work at high traffic times, keep that in mind.

I'm not familiar with the schools here, but my neighbors have kids and they love the schools that their kids go to.

Those are nice areas but if you want a house that big be prepared to pay out big time. Also the schools and healthcare in GA are not good, at all. For this reason I have opted to homeschools. As far as crime anywhere you go here will be infested but those areas seem to have less. I think because the transportation system doesnt go out there.

You could live in Kennesaw & be zoned for a school in Acworth. Or you could live in Marietta 30064 and attend Harrison high school in Kennesaw. It just depends on the address/zoning map.
Kennesaw is closer to the freeway and has plenty of shopping & entertainment. Dallas is a bit far out and not close to an interstate. To a NYer it would most likely be considered "country".
Don't focus too much on having an Acworth or Kennesaw address as long as you stay in Cobb county.
Cobb has good infrastructure, lower taxes and better schools. Kennesaw & Acworth are more established than
Dallas.
Former NYer and Californian here... My kids have done very well in Kennesaw schools. They have been part of the Target & Magnet programs. So far one has completed/graduated HS and earned a scholarship.

E.g.; Here is a house in Marietta with very good schools that are in Kennesaw
