Nice to see this development coming to Kingsland.

Epic Adventures will be built on a 480-acre tract in Kingsland on the west side of Interstate 95 between exits 1 and 3.

Mayor Ken Smith said developers plan to start the first phase of construction, an RV resort with cabins and other amenities this summer. The resort is scheduled to open next spring.

“It looks like it will become a reality,” he said. “We’re hoping it will have a great economic impact over the entire area.”

The second phase is construction of the main hotel, conference center, indoor sports center, amphitheater and festival plaza.

The third phase will include an outdoor sports field complex, water park, family entertainment center and retail businesses, hotels and restaurants. Construction of the second and third phases will begin later this year, with completion scheduled for 2019.

The fourth phase is called The Golden Isles, a complex of specialty retail, restaurants and entertainment. Construction is planned to begin in summer 2018 and open in 2019.

The final phase, scheduled for completion in 2020, is a market featuring products grown in Georgia.

Investors plan to spend in excess of $220 million on the project.

Smith said separate entrances will be built at exits 1 and 3 to alleviate traffic congestion.

“I’m sure we’ll have to do some additional work,” Smith said of road improvements.

The complex is adjacent to the site of a planned technical college in Kingsland, but Smith said the college and entertainment complex will not share any facilities.

executive summary = higher property taxes to pay for the required infra. But Georgia-grown products, cool. Peaches..yum.
