Looking for a cabin in North Georgia (Atlanta, Jasper: crime, how much)

Hello everyone! My family is looking for a cabin in the North Georgia area. We have been doing a lot of research on the web to see which area(s) to check out during our trip to North GA. We are looking to use the cabin for a getaway from Florida for hunting, kayaking and hiking. For those from North Georgia, we would love your input on the best areas/counties for deer hunting.

We are looking for a small cabin (2 beds/1 bath - 1 bed can be a loft). We arent sure how much property we would want because we are still looking to find out how much property is needed to hunt on your own property in GA. Areas we have on our list include; Jasper, Elijay, Blue Ridge, Ball Ground/Nelson, & Waleska (pretty much everything along I-575 & 515). Any input on these areas would be appreciated!

Put Hiawassee on your list....moved here from Charleston SC in October...LOVE IT! Lake chatuge is everywhere....pm me and I will give you info on excellent realtor

I'm going to second Hiawassee and put Clayton on the list too! Hiawassee , with Lake Chatuge, and Clayton, with lakes Burton,Seed and Rabun are really hard to beat.Hwy 985 going up there makes it a very easy drive from the Atlanta area.
