I would like to visit several railroad museums with a rolling stock collection. Southeastern Railway Museum, 3595 Buford Highway, Duluth, Georgia 30096-3852, is under my consideration.

Has anyone visited Southeastern Railway Museum?

I took my "train crazy" son and my other other son as well; they LOVED IT. My middle son, the "engineer in training (train driver that is), walked deliriously happy through the whole complex: the demonstration train, other old cars, and his favorite, the old Southern Crescent passenger train that is mothballed on the premises and open for tours.

By the way, there is another train museum at the old Central of Georgia railroad depot on the eastern edge of Downtown Savannah. Another great find!

I either heard or read Southeastern Railway Museum volunteers operate trains. In order to operate trains, specific training would be necessary.
