i get your concern, but 1,132 fraudulent votes ever is not a high rate. there are hundreds of millions of ballots cast every year. even if you combined all of those frauds from all over the country over the past however many years into one election in georgia, it still wouldn't be enough to flip the state.

the response has been outsized and is affecting the vote count negatively— it just doesn't make sense that if there's only 1,132 people that have ever committed voter fraud in the history of the country, that you would remove a million people from the voter rolls in a single state, the estimated number of voters brian kemp has purged over his tenure.

i don't think anyone has a problem with making sure people aren't supposed to vote don't vote. but clearly in this case, it's a repeat of what's been going on in this country for years; it's like when trump says that he won the "women's vote"— when he thinks of "women", it's only white women. just like when people think of "american" they think of white people. the truth is that the voter ID thing is an easy thing to hide behind when you want to target certain people because you don't see them as legitimate and equal citizens.

I've received mailers calling Abrams "Comrade Abrams," with pictures of her next to Bernie Sanders and in a Soviet styled font type. That line of attack seems to be working given the number of people online I see calling her a socialist. But the positive side of me hopes that a lot of those "people" are bots or trolls and not ordinary citizens who are simply that weak-minded.

Here's one about non-citizens.

This is an anecdotal story about how easy it was to register-without even trying:

"...For instance, in 2017, the group found that nearly 5,600 people on the voter rolls in Virginia were deemed as non-citizens, with a third of them voting in previous elections...."

Is is "prevalent?" Who knows? But it clearly happens. And as close as many elections are, we should take steps to make sure illegal voting and voter fraud doesn't happen. People NOT voting because they couldn't get a birth certificate-I've yet to hear even anecdotal evidence of that, only theoretical discussions.

There wasn't a long line in Dekalb, but virtually all the machines were occupied. It was pretty busy.

Well I’m not surprised those areas are heavily red and most Democrats would not waste their times putting signs outside homes that might make them a target from the majority. As I said I was surprised at the booth and the reception it got. This area is not going Blue but any more than 12% would be a win for Abrams in the area.
Kemp is not Deal, he won’t be as attractive to independents.

If Abrams starts earning more than 15% in the counties of north Georgia, it's going to spell trouble for Kemp.

Republicans have centered every statewide campaign around winning overwhelming support from ultraconservative rural whites. I wonder how much longer that's going to be a viable strategy. Atlanta accounts for about 90% of the state's growth and a lot of rural areas are shrinking.
