Go to east Texas, (Not far from Louisiana) Tyler is a nice city, look in the rural areas around Tyler and you'll be able to buy a nice home. Jacksonville is nice, Rusk is nice, Chandler another. Longville is nice but they do have some crime, you'll have to look up crime rate there

Any place in the south with lots of jobs isn't really that southern anymore.

You might want to face-palm a few more times, see if there's any sense left to knock loose. Seems like yours has gone AWOL.
Have you been in South Georgia?

The people are nice. Its relaxing and laid back. The cost of living is low. There are certainly reasons to live in South Georgia. Just not many good economic ones (other than the low cost of living).

It wouldn't be where I would choose to live, but I understand why some people do.

If you enjoy the rural or small town life and can bring your own job, or money, you can live like a king in south GA.

Uh, have you seen a map? The coast is part of southeast Georgia.

My experiences with Valdosta have always been good. The VSU campus is very pretty; the college and Moody AFB have always provided a measure of stability to the community. Check out the nearby community of Lake Park; very pretty and bucolic.
