and Ga is red. I think this helps so that ATL doesnt get stupid laws like banning straws, paying for trash bags, red light cameras everywhere, toll roads everywhere, crazy taxes, etc. I think Ga being Red helps ATL not have these crazy laws that Seattle, LA, San Fran, Chicago, etc have. What you think?

Georgia being red means we have to contend with nutjobs like Kemp and Cagle, embarrass ourselves on a national stage by having a candidate attack our largest employer over an NRA discount, worry about religious freedom laws, worry about far-right legislation destroying parts of our economy such as the film industry, and have politicians who stand behind Donald Trump and refuse to call out his weakness on Russia. We get to watch our politicians villify immigrants, gay people, and minorities to explain why their poor, uneducated voters are failures in life so they keep voting Republican. We get to watch our fellow citizens die without healthcare because they refuse to expand Medicaid just to prove a point.

I'm sorry if I'd rather just deal with banning f*cking straws.

I think this has been similarly brought up in another thread a few months ago.

Again, I will say...

I think the best scenario is:

Atlanta: Blue
Metro Atlanta: Indigo
Georgia: Purple

Atlanta is Blue
Metro Atlanta is Magenta
Georgia is Red

This state is likely another 8-10 years from being on the verge of being truly purple.

I'm typically apolitical (I have my own life values, taught by my parents, they used to occasionally align with a politician here or there but that hasn't happened in over a decade), but I'd like to know why you folks have the opinions you do. Lets try putting a filter on the replys though, I already avoid P&OC due to the ignorance of the comments... so, post only positive things.

What positives come from Atlanta being blue, the metro being whatever flavor of purple and the rest of the state being red? For an individual just trying to make it through life, hopefully not having to work till the day they die, what benefits are there to this arrangement?

I'm not being rhetorical, antagonizing or trolling, honestly curious (and hope to get some feedback from folks who might be further afield than my pretty central position).

Um, I know what they are now.

As I posted, I wrote the best scenario.
