Think visionary...

1. Atlanta: Is a magnet--a visitor/conventioneer/tourist draw. Would do well there.
Think like this --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encore_Boston_Harbor

2. Albany: I imagine cultivating it into a Reno/Mini-Vegas of the Southeast. Place the casinos/resorts/gambling next to the river and make it an awesome riverside/Flint River thing. River/paddle boats, etc.
Albany's attributes -->
a. Pleasant winter climate.
b. The River, The Flint River.
c. River cruises, steamboats, etc.
d. Lack of regional competition.
e. Other things (can't write much now)

Can't speak for Albany, but with Atlanta being at the crossroads of 3 major interstates, I find it very hard to believe that a casino along one of those interstates also wouldn't attract a ton of trucker drivers and tourists who are simply traveling through Georgia to reach places such as FL, SC, etc. (just like Tanger Outlets in Locust Grove does, for example).

Exactly. In my opinion, I would place it in the Six Flags/Fulton Industrial area along and near the river. I would add other tourist draws there in the area as well. And--extend MARTA to the area.

I'm fine with them going to the Indian casinos in AL and NC.

The casinos there bring in tens of millions of visitors a year pumping billions of dollars into the local economy and creating thousands of jobs. But you get outside of Vegas and most of these casinos in other states primarily draw from the local area.. so instead of bringing in money to the local economy, it often s a drain.
Yes, but you can't get there from here! Try driving that route. I did that once.

Casinos would only work to compliment Atlanta's already dynamic economy by making it even more dynamic.

Why exactly is that a bad thing? And what does it have to do with a town that has absolutely nothing else to fall back on besides Casinos?
Casinos win by not letting their customers out of the hotel. One in downtown Atlanta would be bad for local restaurants and other businesses in the vicinity of the casino. Casinos are for towns that do have nothing else.

Honestly, I am with you. I dont want one in Macon....it would be a cross between Walmart on Christmas Eve and Waffle House at 2am. A sad little drunken rushed mess. But if a developer bought the land and did it, it should be their right as long as it doesnt affect others. (Read...not near anything else).

Yep. I am a libertarian too, and in a same way as you in concept I think... I know most things all connect. Otherwise we'd have yahoos dump toxic sludge on property next to your well or etc. So for me it is the crime with casinos. Don't want to casinos anywhere within 15 miles of Savannah. Vegas is fun but omg wouldn't want to live there. I hope this gets squished before it gets off the ground.
