Is Six Flags over Georgia a gimmick? I would call it an amenity, just like a beach would be to a coastal city

I think an amusement park or zoo would be a good addition to Columbus. I think either one would be a good pairing with the white water rafting/

I'm not a fan a casino in Augusta but I'm not against it. Considering Columbia already have an impressive zoo, I say Augusta would benefit largely if it go for the gusto when it comes to bringing a large amusement park to the CSRA

Albany, GA Already has a Zoo.

Georgia already has two amusement parks. Six Flags in Atlanta and Wild Adventures in Valdosta. Not really sure if the market is there for another large amusement park in the state. Same for an aquarium.

Is there no advertising money for this? I’ve never heard of it and have been to Savannah many times.

Phenix City had a small carnival on their riverfront back in 60's.

Savannah= casinos because of the similar atmosphere as New Orleans.
Columbus= zoo or an amusement park.
Macon= Casinos or an amusement park. (Rigby's water world is close by and operating do this just proves my theory. Macon is only 83 miles from Atlanta so most people in the area dont mind going there for pleasure and entertainment.
Augusta= casinos on the river front or an amusement park similar to Carowinds.
Athens= to be honest I dont necessarily see any of these things coming here because of the type of population and is close proximity to Atlanta.

That won't happen soon. Most Savannahians, and especially their City Council (which has the final say), are opposed to two things: 1) a formal cruise-ship stop for Savannah and 2) a casino anywhere in Chatham County.

I don’t think a zoo would work anywhere in Richmond or Columbia county, simply because of Columbia, SC. They’d have to pull from people on the other side of the river in the CSRA, and for those people, Columbia would only be an extra 15-20 minutes. I’d love a zoo for Savannah tho. Somewhere near a marsh. That’d be great.

Savannah technically has a zoo too. The Oatland Island Wildlife Center. It’s quite nice.
